I am Sophia Gibson, and I graduated from Notre Dame Academy. I play women’s basketball and, as a 6'4" center, I’m considered one of the top basketball players in Kentucky for the Class of 2025. I committed to play Division 1 basketball at Yale.I've gone by the nickname 'Gibby' since I was a kid. I started playing basketball when I was 6 years old, typically playing with my dad, John, and my older brother, Sam. As a center, I have a unique combination of height and length that makes me hard to guard in the post. I’m especially known for my shot blocking on the defensive end. I’ve been fortunate to excel at the high school level, earning All-Region and All-Tournament team honors in the 9th region of Northern Kentucky. In addition to my success on the court, I maintain a 4.2 GPA and rank among the top students in my high school class. In 2021 and 2022, I was named to the All-State Academic Team. I host a summer basketball camp for kids to raise awareness and funds for mental health.
